Marigold Petals


Latin Name: Calendula Officinalis

These bright flower leaves make a bright, sweet and fresh tea with a slight chrysanthemum salty aftertaste.

Marigold is used to heal wounds and bruises as tea to be drank, or just externally on top of the damaged skin.

Health benefits:
Make a strong tea to apply externally or make a regular tea to drink it to salve and treat burns, bruises and cuts. This is also the best natural way to fight skin infections, hemorrhoids and diaper rash on infant buttocks.

It’s skin repairing skin functions come from its richness in flavonoids and phosphorus. These are plant-based antioxidants that protect the body against cell-damaging free radicals.

Marigold is low in caffeine (less than 10% of a cup of coffee)

Not suitable for pregnant women.

Alternative uses:

– Marigold flower petals are edible and often used to brighten up salads
– Farmers give this tea to chickens to obtain premium eggs with yolks in a darker yellow color.
– You can also just chew on the leaves

Preparation: Place a soup spoon of flower tea in a glass and pour 150 – 180 cc of boiling water. Steep for 3 – 4 minutes.
